Starting School
New students and their families have been welcomed into our community and we have just completed the transition program “Small Mercies” for our newest Receptions who will commence their primary school journey on the first day of Term 2 (23rd April).
We welcome Jasmine Orlosski to our school and she will be teaching the new Reception class from the beginning of Term 2. We wish Jasmine and all of the new students and their families a very rich and rewarding partnership with the Catherine McAuley community.

Be Active-A-Thon Day
Last Thursday we held our much awaited Athon Day. Every class was involved and the PE EXPO was a great display of fitness, creativity, agility and talent from across the school.
The highlight for all the Sporting Teams was the running of the Catherine McAuley Cup. Congratulations to Telyka who won the Champion Girl Award and to Lucas who was the Champion Boy.
A delicious sausage sizzle, cooling ice blocks and the occasional lolly, kept energy high and everyone in a positive and competitive mood. A heartfelt thanks to the CMCT group who organised the wonderful food on the day.
A very big thank you to Richard Cochrane for organising the Athon and to the many parents, students and teachers who contributed to the success and enthusiasm of the event.
The “Be -active- a thon Day is a major fund raiser for the school and so we ask all families to return their sponsorship money as soon as possible. Prizes will be given out in Term 2.

Be Active-a-Thon 2012
We encourage you to join your child during the Be Active-a-thon.
We would love to see you there. If you are currently a Registered School Volunteer and are willing to help during the Be Active-a-thon activities, cooking of the sausage sizzle or with Catherine McAuley Cup Run supervision, please let the school staff know of your interest by writing a note in your child’s diary.
We will begin the day with a special Sports Expo in the morning (around10.20). The Sports Expo is designed to give children a 3 minute opportunity to showcase their sports skills with the school community watching on. All children are invited to participate.
The mornings activities will finish with a sausage sizzle and the Catherine McAuley Cup run will be held in the afternoon.
If you are planning on being around at lunch time please pre-order food and drinks. (Order forms(green) have been sent out.)
